Choose the 30mm bubble level for Arken Optics EPL4 scopes. For Arken Optics SH4, EP5 and EP8 scopes, please choose the 34mm bubble level.
Why use a Bubble Level?
It’s simple. When a projectile leaves a barrel, it gets pulled directly to the Earth by gravity. To compensate for that drop a long range shooter needs to aim progressively higher and higher the further out his target is, to compensate for that drop. Most long range shooters do this by adjusting the elevation turret of their rifle scope.
However, if your optic is tilted to one side or the other, you’re adjustments are no longer going directly against that pull of gravity. So, you’re essentially aiming off to the side, rather than directly above your target. This will cause far more misses than impact the more canted your optic is.
It is critical that your optic is always perfectly level when you make the shot to ensure your point of impact is where it should be, resulting in clean impact versus a miss.
