ABOUT INFERNO PRECISION SWAGED SLUGS
Inferno Precision Swaged Slugs has been producing precision, hand swaged and jacketed premium ammunition for many years. This includes center fire bullets for top competition shooters. Also, bonded bullets for the hunting industry. These are professional rounds developed by professional shooters.
They used the experience gained over many years from their own shooting to develop these slugs. Inferno researched and developed specific ogives, nose and base configurations. Their experience and these specifics ensure they deliver a proven, quality product consistently, in every slug they make.
Inferno uses only the cleanest, purest of lead, in contrast to recycled lead from scrapyards like some brands. Of course, not any lead can be used for pellets and slugs. If the lead used is not top quality, you are guaranteed to ruin your barrel over time. In fact, this happens much more than you’d expect, especially within a new market, like with air rifle slugs.
These Inferno air rifle slugs are hand-swaged with a method used for the bullets manufactured for center rifle shooters competing at the highest levels. They use very high pressure in their swaging, approaching 80,000 PSI. This happens at room temperature, forcing a lead core directly into precision diamond lapped dies.
Unlike with casting, Inferno uses no heat or molten lead. Special powerful presses apply the high pressure; each designed to hold a precision, diamond-lapped die.
WHY INFERNO?
You will almost always get better concentricity with these Inferno Slugs than with cast or mass-produced slugs, in contrast. They have an extremely high degree of uniformity and density. Consequently, the process allows for very excellent repeatability. Being able to make the same slug time after time is very important and their swaging excels at this, naturally. The end result? Truly, the most accurate slug possible!
Inferno Slugs are exact caliber diameter. In fact, Inferno measures them up to 5 digits after the comma. For example, 0.21700″ diameter at the bearing surface. They ensure that weights are very consistent. Less than 0.1 grain variance of the intended weight, in fact. They achieve this by using precision equipment and rigorous quality checks.
There is absolutely no reason to weigh and handpick these slugs in batches for competition use. They are perfect, in contrast to the “top brands” of pellets and casted or mass manufactured slugs than need sorting.
