The latest version of the DRS family is the FX DRS Tactical 600 5.5mm, joined by its 500 and 700 version siblings. Also known as the FX DRS Tactical Standard 5.5mm, featuring an AR-15-inspired design for unmatched versatility, as well as modification opportunity to suit your needs. With a fully enclosed handguard rail system, ARCA and Picatinny rails, as well as QD sling mounts – built for tactical shooting enthusiasts!

Engineered for precision and efficiency, it boasts a redesigned plenum for optimal shot count and power, while the FX UGI grip and adjustable two-stage trigger enhance comfort and control. Designed for unlimited customization, it accepts a Mil-Spec buffer tube, allowing users to configure it with their preferred AR-15 buttstock or run it as a large pistol.

Reservoir & Plenum
Of course, impossible not to mention: the placement of the air reservoir, which is actually around the barrel! Because of this, the DRS does not have a bottle attached to the system. The result: completely different external characteristics than the average PCP air rifle. In addition to the sleek design, this also has a functional aspect. This pressure tube also keeps the barrel under tension for a consistent shot pattern. On the FX DRS 600, you get a 260cc reservoir.
Meanwhile the plenum has also been well thought out. The DRS Tactical introduces a newly designed plenum that, while slightly smaller than the SHP plenum found on the DRS Pro, delivers remarkable efficiency. This 35cc Tactical Power Plenum is the air supply/prechamber after the regulator that the rifle uses for the shot. Amazingly, FX designed the DRS Tactical so the plenum is located under the bolt housing/main block.
By optimising airflow and performance, the rifle achieves a higher shot count while maintaining the power needed for pellet shooting. And while the DRS Tactical is optimised for pellets, it’s equally capable of shooting slugs, ensuring versatility across various shooting applications.
Regulator
The DRS is a regulated rifle, which means that the regulator consistently fills the plenum to a desired pressure. Because the plenum contains the same pressure for every shot, the DRS has exactly the same power for every shot, resulting in high accuracy! This regulator pressure is adjustable for different power ranges.
Superior STX Barrel
The DRS squeezes its power into the STX Superior barrel system. This barrel system, of course, uses the well-known FX liner system that consists of interchangeable barrels and liners. The standard liner is optimised for both pellets and light slugs, but you can replace it with a Heavy/Slug liner with a different pitch and choke. FX’s DRS Tactical 600 has an STX superior barrel with a length of 600mm. You also get a 1/2×20 UNF thread on the end of the barrel for an optional silencer.
Adjustability
The DRS comes in an average state of adjustment, making it universally usable for most purposes. If this tune is not optimal for your purpose (too powerful, not powerful enough, etc.), the DRS is highly adjustable! You can adjust both the hammer spring and the regulator pressure to optimally modify the power. If you want to experiment with even higher power than the DRS allows stock standard, then try the DRS Slug Power Kit! With these adjustments, you can perfectly optimise the DRS to suit your specific shooting needs.
Enhanced Ergonomics & Precision
The DRS Tactical is equipped with the FX UG1 grip. The UGl’s moulded finger grooves and rubberised over-mould offer exceptional comfort and control in any shooting scenario. Its rear connection allows users to install a wide range of aftermarket grips. The fully adjustable two-stage trigger includes a redesigned trigger blade, delivering an enhanced feel and responsiveness for dynamic shooting styles. Whether aiming for pinpoint accuracy or rapid follow-up shots, this trigger ensures consistent performance.
Magazine
The DRS comes standard with the Mini magazine, a smaller version of the Side Shot Mega magazine. Despite the name, this magazine still has a large capacity of 14 5.5mm (.22) shots!
Please note: You cannot use the larger side shot mega magazine like with the DRS Classic, because of the picatinny/weaver rail on the top of the rifle.
Customisation Without Limits
True to its tactical roots, the FX DRS Tactical is designed for ultimate customisation, featuring an AR15 inspired rifle stock. The rifle accepts a Mil-Spec buffer tube, allowing users to attach their preferred buttstock. By offering the DRS Tactical without a buttstock and buffer tube, users can personalise their air rifles to their exact specifications.
