Description
FX TRUE BALLISTIC CHRONOGRAPH
The FX True Ballistic Chronograph is FX Airguns’ latest must-have precision accessory. Imagine a chronograph that always works. And that also gave the actual ballistic coefficient of a round through multiple velocity readings. All in both a compact and portable package. No external triggers, microphones, tripods nor external power needed. Just a foolproof set up with all the information you will ever need for an accurate and true ballistic calculation.
This is also true for any firearm. Yes, no sensitivity settings needed, because it seamlessly reads any projectile between 400 to 4000 fps without pressing any button.
The True Ballistic Radar Chronograph measures actual speeds at four different velocity readings from 0 – 300 yards. This is, of course, to determine actual ballistic coefficient using G1/G7 drag models. It provides actual data in your conditions, info that provides the difference between a hit and a miss. What’s it worth to you to hit your target? Either use the on board display, or connect to the FX Radar app to get more out of the ballistic data.
This chronograph is extremely simple to use, of course, for such a high end device. Place it next to a gun and aim it towards the target to make accurate measurements. Even when it rains, because that does not influence functionality. You can use the buttons on the sides of the screen to easily navigate through the menu, as well as adjust settings and parameters. This includes units, which can be adjusted between fps, m/s, Joules and ft/lbs. Likewise, you can adjust he radar frequency to enable the use of multiple chronographs at once.
Version: CE vs FCC
According to FX Airguns, there is one main difference between the FX True Ballistic Chronograph CE (European) and FCC (North American) versions. That is the antenna power output, which is determined by regional regulatory compliance, not different hardware.
CE Version (Europe)
This version has a decreased antenna power output to comply with the health, safety, and environmental protection standards of the European Union (CE certification). It is intended for use within countries that recognize CE certification, primarily those in the European Economic Area (EEA).
FCC Version (North America)
This version has a higher antenna power output. Obviously, to comply with the regulations set by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the United States and its territories.
The physical hardware of the chronograph is the same for both versions. In fact, the difference is purely a software/firmware limitation to meet regional power regulations. It is possible to change the version by updating the device’s firmware via the FX Chronograph website using a computer and a USB-C cable. A user with a CE version device can update it to the FCC version (or vice versa) if they are in the appropriate region. Beyond the radar power output, all other functions and features of the chronograph, such as measuring velocity (400-4000+ fps), calculating ballistic coefficient, Bluetooth connectivity to the FX Radar app, and physical design, are the same
