Description
LABRADAR LX CHRONOGRAPH BLACK
The Labradar LX Chronograph Black delivers advanced Doppler radar tracking technology in a compact, user-friendly design. Ideal for accurately measuring the velocity of firearms, airguns, bows, crossbows and even airsoft guns or paintball markers. And, because it operates at an impressive 60GHz, it provides faster processing and exceptionally smooth performance. Additionally, the internal rechargeable battery makes everyday use far more convenient. Meanwhile, the upgraded algorithms ensure quicker setup and consistently reliable results. You get a modern, efficient, and highly precise device perfect for both casual shooters and serious professionals.
The LX Difference
The Labradar LX stands out as one of the most advanced velocity-tracking tools available, offering cutting-edge Doppler radar technology that delivers unmatched precision. Because it performs reliably in every lighting condition, shooters can depend on consistent and highly accurate readings. Including of course, an extreme accuracy rating of ±0.1%. Additionally, its wide velocity range of 65 to 5,000 fps makes it perfectly suited for almost all rifles and pistols, giving you the accuracy and consistency you need during every shooting session.
To make each session even more convenient, the device has some nifty features. You get a bright outdoor-friendly LCD screen, a long-lasting internal rechargeable battery, and built-in IPSC/IDPA Power Factor and KE calculators. You can also view detailed performance data such as average velocity, extreme spread (ES), standard deviation (SD), and both minimum and maximum readings. Furthermore, the ability to add shots to previous series helps you to both manage and compare your data more efficiently. Especially during extended range use, or long shooting sessions.
Despite its power and advanced capability, the Labradar LX remains remarkably portable. It features a tough metal outer case that protects the internal components while keeping the device compact and lightweight. Finally, the Bluetooth-enabled mobile app ensures seamless connectivity. So it is simple to review, organize, and store your shooting data wherever you go.
Ballistic Coefficient (BC) Calculation
The Labradar LX has taken a significant step forward for shooters and ballistics enthusiasts by introducing a Ballistic Coefficient (BC) calculation feature. This feature adds a powerful tool to enhance projectile performance insights, focusing on factors like drag, trajectory, and accuracy. With BC calculation capabilities, the Labradar LX empowers users to make informed adjustments for improved accuracy and efficiency in various shooting applications.
Charging the Device
To charge the Labradar LX, first confirm that the power source is functional and meets the Labradar LX specifications (+5 V standard USB, 1 A to 2 A). Do not use power supplies that exceed 5 V. Next, simply connect the USB-C end of the supplied cable to the port on the device, then plug the USB end into a compatible power source. Once connected, the radar will begin charging immediately and will automatically stop when the battery is fully charged or if power is interrupted. If the device does not charge, first check the battery level, as the device will stop charging when it reaches 100%. Importantly, always ensure that both ends of the cable are properly inserted and that neither the ports nor the connectors are damaged.
Memory
The Labradar LX Chronograph Black features built‑in internal memory, allowing it to store data and operate even without any external storage. In addition, it is capable of recording up to 999 series of 250 shots each, providing ample capacity for most shooting sessions. However, the exact number of series or shots available for recording may vary over time. This is directly dependent on future firmware updates that could expand or adjust the device’s storage capabilities.
For Data Exportation, you can export your shooting data using one of two methods. Firstly, connect the Labradar LX to a PC using the supplied USB cable, then browse the Data drive to copy CSV files and directories to your computer. Alternatively, you can use the mobile app to connect to your Labradar LX via Bluetooth and export the results directly using the app’s built-in commands. Furthermore, CSV files can be opened using Microsoft Excel or other similar software. The result is easy viewing, analysis, and also record keeping.
Recommended Setup
Position the radar directly behind the muzzle exit. To ensure optimal results and improved precision, maintain a distance of 0.1 m to 0.5 m between the barrel and the Labradar LX. Similarly, keep the same distance between the muzzle exit and the radar. If these distances are not maintained, the device may still record measurements. However, the overall accuracy of the readings will gradually decrease. Also, set the trigger level (where applicable) to the lowest appropriate value when the sound of the shot is particularly quiet. Please note that you may need to position certain air rifles even closer than 0.5 m to allow the radar to detect the shot reliably.
Labradar LX Carry Case
Keep your Labradar LX Chronograph Black safe wherever you go with this included carry case, valued at R1000.
This durable yet lightweight carrying case is designed specifically to protect your Labradar LX during transport or storage. With its rugged exterior and secure internal padding, it shields your device from bumps, dust, and scratches. Its compact design and convenient handle make it easy to carry, while the interior layout keeps your equipment neat and ready to use. Large enough to fit your device and its accessories, small enough to fit in almost any rifle bag, range bag or backpack.
Mounting the Labradar LX on a Rifle
One crucial benefit of these mini-sized doppler radars is the ability to mount them directly to a rifle. Labradar offers for sale a Picatinny Rail Accessory Mount (not included) for this very purpose.
The user manual contains the following warning:
Mounting has been tested with rifles up to 7.62mm. Care should be taken to make sure the device does not get exposed to too much acceleration as damage may occur. Mounting the device on a firearm caliber larger than 7.62mm is not covered by the warranty.
According to Labradar, a .308 Win. is the maximum level of recoil the unit is rated for. So shooters who use milder cartridges in competition, like the 6.5 Creedmoor, 6mm GT, and 6 Dasher won’t have any issues mounting the LX to their rifles. For larger calibres, use the included mini tripod and keep the unit away from muzzle blast.
The Labradar Mobile App
