Description
LARGE HP COMPRESSOR FILTER KIT 300BAR
For the best possible filtration using high-pressure compressors, make sure you get the Large HP Compressor Filter Kit 300BAR. Designed to reduce contaminants and moisture introduced into airgun systems, this filter connects between your PCP compressor and airgun tank. Ensure you only put clean, dry air in your rifle, as it filters moisture and other impurities from the air.
It’s widely known that PCP airgun corrosion is caused by moisture in the air that’s used for filling. The result is long-term damage to your gun and an expensive repair bill just waiting for you in the future! Over the long-term, from one year on, PCP airgun corrosion will be the number one cause of failure for PCP air rifles. First, you find that your favourite PCP is starting to loose pressure between uses. Thereafter the pressure loss becomes more rapid. Finally, the gun will no longer hold pressure.
Ideally, your air rifle or cylinder should only be filled with both clean and dry compressed air at an accredited supplier. This isn’t always possible, especially when you’re far away from these suppliers. So shooters opt for compressors or pumps to fill their cylinder or rifle themselves. Even when you fill using a cylinder, you may need to add an extra filter when filling via diving shops or living in high humidity locations.
Important Tips
Do not use any oil or grease near compressed air. Oil and grease can combust when pressurised. Use only pure silicone grease sparingly on O-rings as supplied by dive shops or dealers.
Suitable for high pressure water-cooled PCP Compressors with 300 BAR / 4351 PSI /30 MPa capabilities, for top-ups on both airguns and cylinders.
Filling your airgun when it is completely empty can be tricky. When your PCP compressor won’t fill an empty airgun, it’s often because the gun’s internal valve is stuck closed due to zero pressure, needing a strong initial air “burst” or cocking to open, or it could be leaking, bad O-rings, or the compressor itself has issues like worn seals or is struggling with the initial volume from zero. First, try cocking the gun; if that fails, you might need a partial fill from a scuba tank to get pressure in, then check for leaks or worn seals.
We do not recommend using this filter with 12V compressors, as the strain on the compressor to fill the large filter and then the airgun may be too much.
Most personal-use PCP compressors are designed to top off partially full cylinders, not to handle the sustained load and potential overheating associated with compressing air from atmospheric pressure all the way up to 300 Bar. You add more volume with this filter, so the load on the compressor increases. Use it only for top-up filling of your cylinder, not filling from empty.
