H&N PILEDRIVER 5.5MM 29.94GR 150PCS

This performance is mainly due to its favorable ballistic coefficient of 0.095. Both its special barrel shape and boat tail provide low air drag and outstanding downrange energy. High mass and low air drag ensure low loss of velocity. Therefore, it retains energy, also making it effective against hard targets.

For this reason, shooters stock up on these pellets for hunting, pesting and field target shooting. Recommended for rifles with a minimum muzzle energy of 29.5 foot-pounds, these are not for the faint hearted. H&N recommends a maximum shooting distance of 50 meters, but these pellets have been tested much further with great success.

Additionally, H&N claims the lowest rate of lead fouling and consistent shot spreads thanks to special alloy. These German-manufactured pellets sell in tins of 150. Although they are not the cheapest pellets, the quality results justify the price for most shooters.

The Piledriver is designed for high power PCP rifles and is not effective in spring or gas-ram powered rifles. H&N’s Piledriver relies on gyroscopic spin alone to maintain its in-flight accuracy. For this reason, the pellet does need a reasonable velocity to start off with, making it a more suitable choice of ammo for PCP air rifles. You’re more likely to see a huge downward swing in a spring or gas-ram air rifle.
