The next evolution in airgun performance, the Fragmenting Airgun Slug is a breakthrough in both precision accuracy and terminal performance. Engineered with a high ballistic coefficient (BC of .2) and designed to retain energy, as well as stability at extended distances.
Corbin USA precision swaged each slug using advanced tooling, ensuring exceptional consistency shot after shot. What sets this slug apart is its four-petal fragmentation system. Unlike traditional hollow points that collapse inward, this design deploys outward in a controlled, symmetrical pattern on impact. The result is reliable, repeatable expansion rather than chance performance.
This isn’t just another slug. It’s a complete redesign of airgun projectile performance, delivering accuracy, consistency, and devastating terminal results in one package. Upon impact, the front hollow point breaks into multiple pieces (up to five separate segments) for an immediate energy dump and a large wound cavity, while the solid rear section continues for deeper penetration.

Important Notes
We highly recommend a minimum velocity of 830fps for accuracy and stabilisation. This amounts to about 61ft.lbs of muzzle energy, which is considered high power. Of course, you can shoot these slugs with less powerful air rifles. But for precision, accuracy, consistency and also impact, there is more to it than just having enough energy to push slugs through the barrel.
First of, to shoot 40 grain airgun slugs effectively, you need a high-powered Pre-Charged Pneumatic (PCP) air rifle. According to most experts, preferably one capable of producing at least 40 to 60+ foot-pounds (ft-lbs) of muzzle energy. While they can technically be fired at lower energies, these heavy projectiles require high power to maintain the 900–950+ feet per second (FPS) velocity needed for accuracy and downrange performance.
Shooting at lower muzzle energies may get the slugs out of the barrel, though they will be very slow and have a “mortar-like” trajectory. Medium-range shooting can require less velocity and energy, so likewise, you will need more energy for high-velocity, long-range shooting.
A standard pellet barrel may, in fact, not be sufficient. You need a barrel with a faster twist rate like 1:16 or 1:18 and a profile designed for slugs to achieve tight groups. You will also most likely need to tune your regulator to high pressures (e.g., 145-165+ bar) to achieve the necessary speed.
We do not recommend that you shoot these heavy slugs in underpowered setups like springers, pistols, CO2 airguns, etc.
