ARTEMIS PP700S-A PCP 5.5MM
Once again, Snowpeak achieves exceptional quality, accuracy and consistency with the Artemis PP700S-A PCP 5.5mm pistol. Don’t be fooled by the price, as this regulated beauty is durably made, packed with features and also delivers on performance!
As mentioned, you get an integrated regulator for more consistency between shots. Therefore, the PP700S-A is amazingly accurate, making it a favourite amongst target shooters. It is also very user friendly and easy to load and shoot, so beginners and even youngsters will have no trouble at all. Suitable for both left and right handed users, with a rotating breech and a single-action hammer.
You cock the pistol through a hammer at the rear. To load a pellet, simply rotate the loading door to reveal the loading port. When you fire with the adjustable 2 stage trigger, the hammer strikes the valve to send the pellet down the barrel. Of course, you can adjust the trigger to a single stage, if you’d like. The steel barrel is precision rifled for excellent accuracy. A full length shroud covers the barrel to both reduce the muzzle report, and strip away turbulent air as the pellets leave.
Everything you see on the outside of the airgun is metal, except for the ambidextrous synthetic grip. This speaks volumes of quality and Snowpeak did not skimp on looks, either! The mentioned grip is comfortable, featuring finger indents and a striking design to aid in better grip. Apart from sights (a squared-off post in front and a u-notch in the rear), you also get a Dovetail optics rail. You can adjust the rear sight for windage by loosening a 1.5mm locking screw and sliding the notch in its Dovetail slot.
Notes
According to existing users, you can adjust the power by hammer spring tension, by air flow, as well as by regulator or valve inside the air tank. We highly recommend that you seek a qualified and/or experienced person or shop for such adjustments.
Many shooters have found that some regulators on some regulated pistols “break-in” after about 500 shots, making these pistols extremely accurate once it does settle completely. This phenomenon is not uncommon with regulators in the PCP world and not limited to pistols. It simply takes a bit of shooting to settle everything in place.
Until such time, they recommend filling this specific pistol no more than 193 Bar to prevent the initial “power” shots that will have a different POI than the “sweet spot” shots between 193 Bar and 110 Bar. Also, for accuracy, to wait no more than 2 minutes between each shot. After each shot, the relatively new regulator may need time to “settle”, which can be up to 2 minutes for absolute accuracy, but not more.
Once these specific regulators break in, the time it takes to settle is no longer an issue.
