Suitable for both air guns (PCP, break barrel, CO2, multi-pump, rifles and pistols) and firearms, any shooter can improve on aim and accuracy with these simple, popular targets. They are relatively inexpensive and the 14 cm x 14 cm size fits most pellet traps. You can also fasten them onto most surfaces with either thumb tacks or tape.
Shooters use these targets at various distances. It all depends on your rifle and shooting discipline. From 10 meter precision shooting with both rifles and pistols, to the extreme bench shooting sports. Of course, the further out you take these targets, the more challenging they become.
They are absolutely crucial to test your groupings. In shooting sports, a shot grouping, or simply group, is the collective pattern of projectile impacts on a target from multiple consecutive shots taken in one shooting session. The tightness of the grouping is the proximity of all the shots to each other. This is a measure of the precision of a weapon. Also, it is a measure of the shooter’s consistency and skill. On the other hand, the grouping displacement (the distance between the calculated group center and the intended point of aim) is a measure of accuracy.
Safety
Always use appropriate eye and ear protection where necessary. Abide by all bylaws and make use of a sufficient backstop. A backstop is anything that will safely stop a pellet, should you either miss your intended target or should it go through the target. Depending on the lie of the land, a backstop can be the ground itself. Alternatively, a brick or stone wall, or any suited material, can be a backstop.
