Some exciting new changes to the homegrown favourites start with a carefully profiled Hollowpoint cavity for a more controlled expansion. Additionally, they feature what is called Balanced Flight Technology. Therefore, they calculated the HP depth separately for each weight variant to provide the optimal center of mass for stable flight.

Gen 2 Javelin Slugs have a rounded Meplat for improved aerodynamics, as well as a redesigned Base for better stability in turbulent conditions. Finally, they have tighter tooling tolerances for better batch-to-batch consistency.

Javelin slugs are designed to travel long distances with minimal influence from external factors. To do this, they’ve incorporated a tangent ogive and smooth shank which reduce drag through the air. They’ve also ensured that the weight distribution and balance provides stable flight, even in turbulent conditions. This ensures an optimum BC across a broad range of barrel designs, twist rates and velocities.

Ballistics information

Patriot published Ballistic Coefficient data for all their slugs to help you predict the trajectory & retained energy at any distance. They’ve also published this information on the Strelok Pro app, which turns your smartphone into a ballistics solver. However, they calculated their data under specific atmospheric conditions with specific barrels, and results may vary as these conditions change. We suggest using the “trajectory Calibration” feature on your ballistic solver to true your BC and validate your trajectory.
