Napier’s Power Pellet Lube is a quite remarkable, simple to use product. Lubing with this product will improve accuracy with any pellet and on any type of airgun. This is guaranteed by Napier. With endorsement from H&N, RWS, Air Arms and BSA to name a few, you know it’s a quality product. Furthermore, world champion shooters like Andy Calpin and John Costello put their names on this product!
This unique complex formula does much more than lubricate. In fact it creates a chemical seal around the skirt of every pellet, ensuring that it will not skim or tear on the rifling of the barrel. That, is turn, greatly improves the gyroscopic effect and results in improved flight, with dramatic improvement in accuracy. Supplied in a convenient 25ml (0.84 us fl oz) spray bottle, you’ll easily apply the required amount of red tinted liquid. According to the manufacturer, this lube improves accuracy, cleans, protects from corrosion and increases velocity.
A great time to apply this product, according to Airgun Shooter magazine, is immediately after the washing and drying phase. Do this while the pellets are still warm. The lubricant will coat a heated pellet far better than a cold one, applying a uniform film over the entire surface of your precious projectiles. Also, using a microfibre towel is ideal.
The lube in itself is a pellet cleaner, especially if you haven’t already washed them. And it’s a great rust protector for the bore of your rifle as well. One of the most important functions of the lube is to form a protective layer over the pellets to prevent oxidation. Heavily oxidised pellets display a rough, uneven surface that will definitely affect uniformity, consistency and accuracy.
Pro Tips
Expert shooters believe it is vital to weigh and sort your pellets if you hope to be competitive or get accuracy and consistency. Gently place your pellets on a soft surface, like a blanket or towel. Inspect individual pellets for deformation, especially at the skirt. You can weigh individual pellets with a suitable pellet scale to ensure your hand-picked batch is as consistent in weight as possible.
