SUMATRA FILL PROBE SEAL SET
The Sumatra Fill Probe Seal Set fits snugly on your Sumatra PCP’s fill probe. This causes a tight seal to make sure you do not lose air when refilling. Replace your seals every now and then or get some spares for future use. Sold as a 2-piece set, so you can replace both seals on your fill probe.
Those O-ring seals on the fill probes get damaged over time. When this happens, you will lose air while refilling your PCP. If the seals are severely damaged, you won’t be able to refill your Sumatra PCP at all.
These seals are so affordable that we recommend you keep a few spares on hand. They are so easy to replace that you can even do it in the field or on the range. Don’t get stuck unable to refill your PCP because of such a small little part. After all, Murphy’s Law will make sure your seals give in at the most inopportune time!
Notes
Ensure the fill probe and the rifle’s fill port are clean and free of dirt or debris.
We recommend that you use a drop of Silicone O-Ring Oil/Lube on the fill probe O-rings every once in a while. This helps lubricate, so the probe slides in easily, preventing damage to the O-rings, and improves the seal.
Use a turning motion to insert the fill probe, in stead of just inserting straight in. Almost like you’re screwing it into the fill port.
Do not use pliers or tweezers to fit the O-ring seals. Use specialised tools like dental picks to remove and fit O-rings, taking care not to scratch the sealing surfaces.
Check the grooves on the fill probe for sharp edges that might cut new O-rings.
Do not overstretch the O-rings when placing them into the grooves.
Ensure the O-rings are seated properly and not twisted in the groove.
