AIR VENTURI AVENGER WOOD 5.5MM
The Air Venturi Avenger Wood 5.5mm boasts all the high-end features of its synthetic stock predecessor. But now it has a solid wooden stock! Lightweight, highly adjustable, regulated, as well as extremely accurate and capable. At just 3.4kg (7.5lbs), its light weight, accuracy and adjustability make it popular with multi-position shooters.
Airgunners welcome the added weight and stability of the ambidextrous wooden stock. It has a well-balanced, solid traditional long-rifle feel. The shape of the stock follows the well-loved synthetic version, but you also get beautiful stippling on both the forearm and grip. This stippling is not just for looks; it creates a non-slip grip for ease of handling. Of course, you still get the two mounting points for a rifle sling.
Features
The heart of the Avenger is, however, in the externally adjustable regulator. Moreover, working in tandem with the adjustable hammer spring, the user can fine-tune the performance of their rifle to best suit their needs. This kind of tuning potential has never been available at such a budget friendly price!
The regulator is adjustable, as high as 3000 psi/210BAR. In addition, you can track your adjustments via the reg pressure gauge on the right hand side of the action. Increasing the reg pressure can be done at any time. On the other hand, decreasing the pressure requires you to degas the gun first. Thanks to an easy access degassing screw, however, degassing is a breeze.
A unique Dovetail/Picatinny combo rail makes scope mounting a breeze. In other words, most mounts will fit. In addition, you’ll find a metal Picatinny rail on the fore-end of the stock for accessories like bipods, lights and lasers. Furthermore, the Avenger features a smooth sidelever action that seamlessly cycles the auto indexing magazines. It comes with two 10 round magazines, therefore you can always have more rounds ready to go! The trigger is two stage and adjustable to your liking, too.
A male quick disconnect fitting on the end of the air cylinder makes filling super easy. Additionally, the threaded dust cap that covers it keeps dust and debris out of your fittings. There is nothing to dislike about this rifle!
The Technical Stuff
This rifle has been extensively tested by importers, retailers, pro and novice shooters alike. Consequently, there can be a lot of conflicting and confusing results. The hardest part of answering questions about velocity, muzzle energy and the capability to shoot slugs, unfortunately, is that it is never a simple answer.
