PATCHWORM CLEANING KIT .177
The Patchworm Cleaning Kit .177 is perfect for both rifles and pistols in .177 calibre. It comes with some Patchworm P78 Cotton Pads, so you’re good to go! You can also use it for .20 and .22 in a pinch, of course. Just add 2 to 3 patches instead of one patch for your .20 or .22 to get a better fit. Some .22 barrels even prefer this string over the green one, especially crowned barrels.
If the rod is too long for your liking, simply trim it down to your preferred length. Not only can you use this rod string in your air rifle, but also in your firearms. Extra cotton pads are sold separately in two sizes, both of which work well with airguns. This rod is super easy to use, too!
For heavily soiled barrels, we highly recommend using a suitable cleaning solution on your first few patches. SAA Barrel Cleaning Oil 50ml works wonders, used by many top shooters in South Africa. Thereafter, you can use dry patches until they come out clean. Very few patches are used, generally, as the patches clean quick and thoroughly.
Easy to use, simply grab your cleaning rod, pierce one cotton patch, feed into the chamber and pull it out straight from the muzzle. Then flip the patch, pull again and remove the patch. Next, pierce another patch and repeat the process. Where a range of calibres is specified for a cleaning head, you can add a second patch (stacked on top of the first) for the larger calibre to achieve a tight finishing stroke.
